What is your favorite part of the job?

Cake Tastings, just kidding, the moment right before the ceremony begins and I say "It's Time."

Olivia Pohl is an event planner and artist who moved to New York City over ten years ago after graduating from Elon University with a degree in Cinema.

She began her career as film editor and as a painter, taking commissions for highly detailed portrait and landscape paintings.

After developing skills in both media and fine arts, she was hired as the Executive Coordinator at The Bronx Museum of the Arts where she gained experience in development, rentals, and more.

Due to her range of expertise, Olivia brings both an organized and aesthetic eye to every event.

What's the first thing you tell your clients?

"The first thing I tell my clients is that anything is possible. If I can’t manufacture something myself, there is always someone who can, especially in New York City, where there are so many talented and professional individuals."

What is your favorite part of the job?

“My favorite part of the job is being able to use all my skills. In school I majored in cinema and minored in fine art. Believe it or not I still use the skills I learned from those two passions of mine all the time.”

Sarah's a midwestern transplant who’s had a love for event planning and literature for as long as she can remember. She wrote her first complete book in middle school after reading The Hunger Games and planned her first wedding (for her dogs) when she was even younger. After graduating from High Point University with a BA in English, Sarah combined her two passions, serving as the Event and Social Media Manager at the Learned Owl Bookshop. Eventually, she made the big move to NYC to complete her MFA in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults at the New School, all while working for Serendipity Literary Agency as an assistant, designer, and social media manager. She's been in the New York area ever since!

Since then, Sarah has worked for multiple event planners in the industry as an assistant both day-of and behind the scenes. Along with her role as an assistant at AWE by Kerry, she currently serves as an event, editorial, and design freelancer. With every role she takes on, her goal is to make a tangible, positive difference in people’s lives.

When she's not working or taking care of her needy corgi Noodle, Sarah enjoys singing, archery, playing her ukulele, nail art, reading, and baking. Her specialties are pies and tiramisu (aka. sarahmisu). And she loves reading almost anything fiction but is especially a big fan of speculative fiction.

What's the first thing you tell your clients?

" At the end of the day, an event is more than just a fun party: it’s a representation of who you are and what you love. My goal is to not only help you bring your vision to life but to make it uniquely yours. "

What is your favorite part of the job?

"The positive impact I can have on people’s lives. Seeing a vision become a beautiful reality is amazing. But the joy of the events’ guests and the meaningful memories I can give them is what really drives me. "
